CANVAS AND CLAY

Creating with clay and painting on canvas- it just doesn’t get any better than that! In this class, your child will get to experiment with many different types of art while learning simple step-by-step painting and clay techniques. They will make 3D bears, owls that glow-in-the-dark, a scratch board painting of a cat and so much more! What a great way for your child to explore the incredible world of art.

SCIENCE: POTIONS & EXPLOSIONS!

Let’s have fun with Chemistry! In this program, we will create “magic” potions and exciting chemical reactions that will blow your mind. Erupt a volcano, make indoor snow, grow crystals, blast a rocket into the air, and more. We will learn about the states of matter and how things change with mixtures, solutions and chemical reactions. Join us to channel your inner Professor Snape!

VOLLEYBALL

Designed to keep kids moving, engaged and learning new skills. Will work on the fundamentals of volleyball while developing hand-eye coordination, agility, and overall athletic skills. Open to participants regardless of skill level and past playing experience.

CHESS

Learn chess with Silver Knights Chess Academy (formerly Magnus Chess Academy), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. COOKING: AROUND THE WORLD

During this program, children will spend each day learning & creating cuisines from different countries & cultures. Throughout the course, children will collaborate while learning about the importance of safety & teamwork in the kitchen. They will master the different skills of cutting, like dicing, coring & slicing, and will also learn more about the customary units of volume, like teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, pints & gallons, all while baking delicious goodies!

SOCCER CLUB

Exciting, fun way to learn new soccer skills (and brush up on old ones!) Play interactive, cooperative team games, practice good sportsmanship, and how to be a team player. Skills are taught in an engaging age/developmentally appropriate way and are designed to get students excited about the sport. Individual and team strengths are highlighted so that everyone feels valued and has fun! Students will touch on:  skills, techniques, play games/matches, practice good sportsmanship!

BASKETBALL BLITZ

Feel the rush of the most exciting basketball activities and game play! Participants will not only have tons of fun, but develop the basic skills needed to excel in 5 vs 5 competitive basketball games. Participants will work on all kinds of dribbling skills, passing, shooting, defense, and practicing proper offensive movement without the ball. All kids, regardless of skill level, will be challenged to improve their basketball abilities, and enjoy an NBA style playoff tournament!!

LEGO® ROBOTICS WEDO 2.0

Children will dive hands-on into building and programming their robots using LEGO® WeDo kits.  Imagine bringing to life a hopping frog, a daring rescue helicopter, or even an adventurous moon rover! As they tinker and create, they’ll learn the magic behind motors, hubs, and sensors, and explore the vast universe of computer science with concepts like sequencing, debugging, and loops.
